This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information
when you use our mobile application.

We collect the following information when you create an account or use our app:
- Account Information: Display name and email address
- Profile Information: Profile picture, bio, and academic details you choose to provide
- User Content: Notes, posts, and files you upload to the app
- Usage Data: App interactions collected via Firebase Analytics
- Device Information: Device type and OS version for crash reporting
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the CampusConnect service
- To authenticate your account and keep it secure
- To display your profile and content to other users
- To send password reset emails when requested
- To improve app performance via crash reports and analytics
- To send push notifications about campus events (with your permission)
3. Data Storage
Your data is stored securely using:
- Firebase Firestore — for user profiles and app content
- Firebase Storage / Cloudinary — for uploaded files and images
- Firebase Authentication — for account credentials
All data is stored on secure servers with industry-standard encryption.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data only with:
- Firebase/Google — for app infrastructure (governed by Google's Privacy Policy)
- Cloudinary — for media storage (governed by Cloudinary's Privacy Policy)
- Law enforcement — only when legally required
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data at any time through the app
- Update or correct your profile information
- Delete your account and all associated data via Settings → Delete My Account
- Request data export by contacting us
6. Data Retention
We retain your data as long as your account is active. When you delete your account,
all personal data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.
7. Children's Privacy
CampusConnect is intended for college students (18+). We do not knowingly collect
data from children under 13.
8. Push Notifications
We may send push notifications about campus events and updates.
You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes
through the app or via email.
